    Job Description

    This individual will become a key member of IT Category Sourcing team, which is responsible for managing Biogen’s technology spend globally.  In this role, the individual will:

     

    ·       Generate, maintain, manage and report IT savings.  This involves working with stakeholders, IT category managers, and Finance partners to baseline savings opportunities, calculate and document savings, and manage savings tracking and reporting for the IT category.  The Category Analyst will also support savings forecasting for future periods.

    ·       Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process.  This involves using our e-sourcing platform, communicating with vendors and stakeholders, analyzing data in vendor responses, developing recommendations, and supporting the development of a negotiation strategy

    ·       Analyze and cleanse category spend data to identify opportunities for potential savings.  Be the resident expert on Biogen’s IT spend.

    ·       Develop, maintain, manage and report on metrics that measure performance of IT Sourcing and Procurement, and support data collection and tracking. 

    ·       Develop and lead a market intelligence practice for IT Sourcing, which will involve identifying best practices and benchmark data, and managing these key resources. 

    ·       Participate in the development of and support the updating and maintenance of IT category sourcing plans, based on data collected, opportunities identified, roadmaps/budgets provided by IT, and other inputs.

    ·       Participate in the development of workflows that define key IT Procurement process and ensure that these are input for performance metrics

    ·       Identify continuous improvement opportunities.  Standardize documents and processes.

    ·       Support ad-hoc data and reporting requests from the IT function or from Procurement/GBS leadership.  

    The individual in this role will have the opportunity to flex and develop their data analytics skills, develop deep knowledge of the Sourcing process by working in partnership with IT Sourcing managers, and gain exposure to key IT initiatives in a leading biotech organization.

    •       Value creation, including savings achieved and savings opportunity identification

    •       Category performance metrics (from category plan)

    •       Sourcing events planned vs executed

    •       Implemented Continuous Improvement (CI) and associated value

    •       Data quality and accuracy (spend data, savings data, etc.)

    •       Stakeholder satisfaction

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

     

    •       Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills

    •       Demonstrated understanding of cost modelling and associated tools

    •       Ability to work effectively across functions

    •       Can organize and analyze large volumes of data to draw effective conclusions.

    •       Strong communication skills, with ability to present information in a clear and concise manner

    •       Past experience as an advanced user of enterprise software systems

    •       Knowledge of the Source-to-Pay process preferred.

     

     

    EDUCATION:

    •       University degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience required; advanced/graduate degree preferred.

    •       2-4 years’ experience

    •       Experience working in a Procurement or Sourcing function is a plus

    •       Experience working in or with an IT function is a plus
