ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Safety Data Sciences Senior Analyst is a key member in Global Safety and Regulatory Sciences (GSRS) supporting the Safety Surveillance roadmap within the Technology, Analytics and Data Insights (TADI) group. Collaborating with fellow TADI Data Scientists and other analytic groups in R&D, the Senior Analyst III will act as an expert of a variety of databases (Adverse Event, RWD, device or app-based, etc.), while applying advanced techniques to mine, transform, and extract novel insights from the data. The Senior Analyst III contributes to and authors best practice, principles of data and programming governance and technical documentation. This role will contribute to discovering new insights, transforming Biogen Pharmacovigilance to a data driven approach.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
·Create pharmacovigilance-focused analyses
·Program in a variety of languages, e.g. Sas, R, Python
·Author project charters and protocols, quality assurance plans, technical project documentation, etc.
·Develop user-friendly interactive visualizations with Tableau, PowerBI, RShiny, etc.
·Discover, evaluate, and master new applications and data/system environments
·Create data driven solutions with a broad swath of scientists from varied disciplines
Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS
·Intermediate or higher fluency in Sas, R , SQL and/or Python languages on multiple platforms against large data sources
·Experience building complex visualizations using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)
·Excellent written and oral communication skills
·Bachelors or Masters degree in a quantitative science or 5+ years equivalent experience
·5+ years working in a healthcare (pharma, managed care/insurance, clinical trial,etc.) , science or data-driven industry producing quantitative outputs to support decision-making
·Intermediate or higher skill using relational data environments (e.g. Oracle, TeraData) or dynamic data environments such as DataBricks
·Strong working knowledge of real world data (e.g. electronic medical record, claims, social media , digital, device or other data)
PREFERRED SKILLS
·Masters degree or higher in data science
·5+ years working as a data scientist in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries, focused on pharmacovigilance
