    Job Description

    This is for a 12-week internship position from June – August 2021.

    We have an exciting opportunity for an intern biostatistician to join our team in Cambridge, MA. You will be part of the clinical biostatistics team. In this role you will be responsible for providing statistical support and guidance on study of adaptive seamless designs using early outcomes for decision-making for a phase 2 or 3 with dose selection to accelerate clinical development.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    This intern biostatistician will work with one or multiple senior level statisticians on research projects that are closely related to clinical trials or non-clinical research for approximately 12 weeks in the summer of 2021. They will also have opportunities to be exposed to the drug development process. Results from the work will be presented at the departmental seminar, and/or the company-wise poster session, and may lead to an internal study report or a peer-reviewed publication.

    To participate in the Biogen Intern or Co-op Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

    • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
    • Grade point average of 3.2 or higher preferred
    • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
    • Completed at least two years of undergraduate studies
    • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university

    Additional qualifications:

    Eligible candidates must have completed two years of course works for their graduate study and passed doctorate qualification exam prior to the start of the internship. They must return to school in fall 2021. In addition, candidates should have a solid understanding of statistical inference, a strong working knowledge of R, SAS or other statistical programming languages, good interpersonal skills, and ability to effectively summarize and communicate research results.

    PhD student in biostatistics, statistics, or related field.
