ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Chief of Staff to the CMO, a Senior Director position, is an important member of the Worldwide Medical Senior and Extended Leadership team and is responsible for ensuring the internal Worldwide Medical organization is best positioned to deliver on its strategy and business priorities. Reporting directly to the CMO, Worldwide Medical, this role will work closely with the CMO and the WMLT to ensure smooth operations of Worldwide medical through the identification of and prioritization of key initiatives and projects. This position will provide decision support to CMO, Worldwide Medical and WMLT.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Focus on effective integration of Worldwide Medical strategies with regards to communication and execution across all medical functions and geographies within the Worldwide Medical network
• Oversees and manages the flow of information / gathering inputs for key decisions within medical and across functions including business and planning processes, strategic management meetings, communications, and reporting.
• Helps prepare the CMO for all key governance meetings (OLC RDGC, PDC OC, WMLT among others) working in close partnership with the other Chiefs of Staff.
• Proactively takes the initiative to update and discuss with the CMO, inputs received from other WWM on critical strategic decision milestones and program deliverables.
• Prepare monthly updates to the CEO and Board. Work in close partnerships with the other Chiefs of Staff to prepare for and co-ordinate key governance meetings like PDC-OC, OLC, Meetings with the EC, Board of Directors, among others.
• Leads and runs the WMLT staff meetings; maintains agenda; ensures key decisions are made and collate strategic topics; partners with presenters; prepare and issue meeting summaries and follow-ups with owners/due dates.
• Works under the direction of the CMO to coordinate and facilitate worldwide medical cross functional project teams to help drive the key initiatives and business imperatives Key liaison and interface with Worldwide Medical finance organization with regards to financial impact of strategic initiatives and investments, with program management, portfolio management, human resources, R&D, commercial organization, and other key functions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of biopharma experience with increasing responsibility
• Ability to lead and influence in the matrix
• Excellent interpersonal skills/ highly collaborative, and ability to cultivate strong internal/external network
• Strong operational skills; project/ timeline management capabilities
• Effective problem-solving skills and judgment
• Anticipates issues before they reach crisis point
• Ability to learn on the fly / quickly identifies what is important and what is not
• Some Worldwide Medical functional knowledge preferable
