BioMarin will continue to focus on advancing therapies that are the first or best of their kind. -Summer Intern Position in Pre-formulation and Protein characterization group within Process Sciences The Pre-Formulation group is involved in biochemical and biophysical characterization of different protein-based drug products including enzymes for enzyme replacement therapies and vectors for the delivery of gene therapy products. Our group is focused on understanding all the aspects of protein structure and functionality to further provide information to develop methods for the production of pure and stable biological drug products. -Carry out well-defined experiments -Make detailed observations and provide quantitative data analysis -Follow written procedures, noting when they need updating; may assist in rewriting procedures. -Participate with others to evaluate new methods and technologies EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION This intern position is geared towards students pursuing either a Bachelors or Masters degree in a field related to the Biopharmaceutical Industry (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field). At a minimum, the candidate should be enrolled in their second (sophomore) year of undergraduate study at the time of application. Preference will be given to candidates with lab experience.
