    Job Title: IR Research Analyst

    Reports to: Executive Director of Institutional Research

    Campus: Queens

    Job Summary:

    Reporting to the Executive Director of Institutional Research (IR), this role will assist in the effective design and administration of university surveys. This position will support the University process of faculty elections and assist in supporting the University’s academic assessment processes relating to student learning outcomes.

    Essential Functions:

    • Provide consulting services and assist with sampling, designing, administering, and reporting of various internal surveys for schools/colleges, academic and administrative departments at the University.
    • Develop, maintain, and administer other surveys and online data collection forms as requested.
    • Collaborate and maintain the process of University-wide faculty online elections as mandated by the CBA.
    • Provide technical support and guidance for the Weave assessment tool; coordinate the documentation of student learning objectives, measures, and outcomes that are used in the University’s program assessments.
    • Assist with preparation and dissemination of reports and presentations as needed.
    • Support University-wide initiatives in the maintenance of the Integrity of University Data.
    • Assist in maintaining the IR website and in educating colleagues on the uses of institutional research and data in general.
    • Perform related duties as assigned.

    Competencies

    • Experience in survey design and analysis.
    • Proven performance with Microsoft Office 365 applications and Adobe Acrobat; extensive knowledge of Excel; SPSS and database query experience are strongly desired.
    • Must have superior attention to detail and strong follow-through ability; outstanding organizational, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work effectively with a diverse group of constituencies in the University.
    • Personal orientation toward service to others and support of the University’s Vincentian Mission of service.

    Work Environment

    This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, etc.

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; bend and stretch to file documents. The employee must work on a computer.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

    Travel

    Travel is primarily local and may include visits to the other NY campuses or to local institutions for occasional meetings.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the social sciences or other related analytical field, required; Master’s degree preferred.
    • Three to five years of related professional experience in a data analyst or data support position required.

    In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual/hourly salary range for this position is $58,500.   • Qualifications
    • Must be skilled in a variety of difficult manipulative and mechanical procedures necessary to perform setups, adjustments, operations and maintenance procedures on multiple presses to produce single-color, two-color, and multicolor work.
    • Requires thorough knowledge of flexographic printing procedures, materials, equipment and safety requirements and skills to perform assignments.   
    • Skill to read and understand job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfully. 
    • Able to read and interpret work instructions. Read safety rules, instructions in the use and maintenance of shop tools and equipment and methods and procedures in mechanical drawing and layout work. Able to communicate effectively in writing using proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech.
    • Must have thorough knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most appropriate use of the press and corrective adjustments required to run efficiently. 
    • Knowledge of the appropriate amount of pressure needed to obtain the proper printing impression for the type of job being run. 
    • Skill in use of ruler, PMS guides and other typical printing job aids to ensure consistent quality is maintained. 
    • Intermediate understanding of computer and computer skills given newer equipment operating systems including cameras, drives and imaging systems.
    • Apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
    • Able to perform arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric procedures in standard practical applications.
    • Ability to operate a computer at an intermediate level.
    • Able to work independently and/or as part of a team.
    • Punctual, regular attendance is an essential job function of employment with RR Donnelley.
    • Overtime, including weekend work, is considered a condition of employment.
    • 2 – 5 plus Previous Flexographic experience operating a press in a label printing environment required.
    • Job requires ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; ability to distinguish color variation
    • Two-handed operation required to operate STOP/Safe
    • Must have good eye/hand coordination.
