    EXTERNAL AWARDS PROGRAM TECHNICAL ASSISTANT 

    STUDENT FINANCIAL SERVICES 

     

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Assisting the External Aid Coordinator in reviewing, crediting, and monitoring over $11 million in external agency funds annually: scholarships, company employer tuition reimbursement benefits, veteran benefits, foreign government fund payments, select state funds, and select federal funds.
    • Responsible for working with the Coordinator in billing and recording payments of all external funds in accordance with the matter set forth by the specific agency. 
    • Processing and generating financial aid reports pertaining but not limited to enrollment, scholarships, and endowments.
    • Assist with the processing and merging of large-scale financial aid mailings, including but not limited to Financial Aid Package Letters, Shopping Sheets, Global Studies Mailing, External Scholarship notification letters and Endowment Notification Letters.
    • Utilizing university Emma software, assist with the coordination of mass-financial aid e-mail efforts, including package letter notification, endowment notification, FAFSA filing notifications, and other e-mail campaigns as determined by the Director of Student Financial Services.
    • Review and assist with the coordination of Financial Aid account auditing and the review of GPA requirements for institutional scholarships.
    • Assist with the completion of Financial Aid/Enrollment Verification forms as directed.
    • Assist with Call Campaigns and other outreach campaigns as directed.
    • Manage the Electronic Filing Cabinet records for Institutional Financial Aid.
    • Providing assistance to the Coordinator in maintaining accounting and reconciliation of all external funds, including Financial Aid Ledger review.
    • Creation and generation of various access reports weekly/monthly to monitor changes in registration and or billing.
    • Responsible for updating and adjusting accounts to reflect changes in student registration status and ensuring changes timely passed to external agencies when required.
    • Forwarding checks to the Treasurer’s Office and the Office of Development upon review and disbursing such funds utilizing an on-line database system.
    • Providing reports of fund expenditures where required by external agencies.
    • Generate Financial Aid Package Letters weekly, run letter audits and send supporting emails.
    • Provide phone support for the general ACD lines and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
    • Assist with the posting of Law and RIID scholarships and scholarship adjustments in a timely manner.
    • And all other duties as assigned by the Director for Financial Services or External Aid Coordinator.
    • Responsible for delivering seamless, effective customer service with a diverse population of students, staff, faculty, alumni and outside agencies.

     

    Requirements: 

    • Two years prior related experience preferred
    • High school diploma, some college education preferred
    • Strong customer service and writing skills
    • Must be able to communicate well both verbally and in writing
    • Ability to work well under pressure
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows

  • Qualifications

     ·High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelors degree preferred with 3+ years   experience in legal word processing or legal field · Experience and exposure in any of the legal word processing tasks below   would be an added advantage; Creating TOAs, TOCs, inserting automated cross   references, converting PDFs to Word using a variety of software, applying Word styles   using macros, troubleshooting problem documents including redlines and documents   containing multiple numbering schemes, style separators, cross references, and other   automated fields · Flexibility to work overtime as required · Ability to work through complex legal document markups and instructions in a timely   and accurate manner · Ability to prioritize various requests and deadlines simultaneously · Excellent verbal and written communication skills · Ability to interact with client and team members in a professional and respectful   manner at all times
