    Job Summary:

    The Director of Data and Assessment is a key member of the Division of Student Success team, working collaboratively across the functional areas to provide data analysis, research expertise, and strategy. Reporting to the Vice President for Student Success and Retention Strategy, the Director of Data and Assessment builds and supports a sustainable culture of strategic analysis and informs decision-making by leveraging current technology and methods from key operational areas within the Division of Student Success.

    Essential Functions:

    • Facilitate discussions and collaboration with the goal of understanding the departments business goals and problems for assessment and evaluation efforts using current trends and methods
    • Design program and learning outcomes that are appropriately clear, specific, and measurable and that align with organizational outcomes, goals, and values
    • Design ongoing and periodic collaboration efforts that are sustainable, rigorous, and unobtrusive as possible
    • Educate stakeholders at the University about the relationship of divisional data and assessment processes to learning outcomes and goals at the student, unit, division, and institutional level
    • Generate reports for internal and external audiences, including translating data from the institutions data warehouse and analytics platforms
    • Develop written and verbal presentations, reporting strategies and dashboards to share data insights for use in decision-making opportunities
    • Make formal and informal presentations, infographics, and reports (including annual report) on findings to the Division leadership or other internal and external campus members.
    • Create, maintain, and manage assessment calendar/cycle for Division of Student Success.
    • Assist in the evaluation, implementation and management of any technical student services projects, platforms, and programs
    • Collaborate with the Office of the CDO to improve access to data for decision-making purposes across the departments within the Division
    • Work with the Division leadership and functional units to design assessment tools, analyze data, and document analysis in reports
    • Direct the analysis of all data related to the continuous quality improvement and assessment cycle of the Division of Student Success
    • Perform data analysis to support internal clients, create reports, data visualizations, and turn data into insights that drive business decisions
    • Participate in the development of policies related to data management and security
    • Collaborate with division leadership to develop and maintain accurate, meaningful dashboards using key metrics and benchmarks
    • Ensure all assessment, evaluation, and research results are accurate, responsible, and effective
    • Use culturally relevant and appropriate terminology and methods to conduct and report assessment, evaluation, and research findings
    • Develop written and verbal presentations, reporting strategies and dashboards to share data insights for use in decision-making opportunities
    • Develop data-related responses for campus leadership, administrative office, and academic departments
    • Design systems capable of transforming and driving the operational decisions for the division
    • Work with the Office of Institutional Research to support external market research strategies in support of the information needs of the division
    • Prepare assessment reports for dissemination to internal and external audiences
    • Collaborate in efforts related to accreditation reporting databases and documentation collection and organization across programs
    • Create analytical tools that measure the impact of learning support services and student experience interventions on student achievement of intended learning outcomes.
    • Execute surveys and other evaluation instruments for assessment initiatives and effectiveness evaluation project
    • Handle, secure, and present confidential materials following University policy and federal/state regulations
    • Develop institutional relationships to assist our ability to serve our students and programs
    • Engage in special projects as assigned by the Vice President for Student Success and Retention Strategy or their designee(s)
    • Other duties as assigned

    Competencies:

    • Ability to master higher education-specific computer software applications, e.g., Banner, Access, Excel, and Slate software
    • Strong background in the principles of research methods and data analysis
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Students Affairs and Academic Affairs/Advising
    • Ability to perform analyses multiple data sets
    • Ability to gather and understand problems, analyze, and present data-informed solutions in a cohesive manner
    • Ability to tell a story with data
    • Experience with survey systems and statistical methodologies preferred
    • A strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
    • Strong organizational and oral and written communication skills necessary

    Supervisory Responsibility :

    This position may supervise full-time employees, graduate assistants, and student workers.

    Work Environment :

    This position operates in a professional office environment. This position requires you to use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, telephone, fax machine, and copier as well as additional devices such as a cell phone and iPad.

    Physical Demands :

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; move about; sit; to carry work and use controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; communicate. Occasional work duties may be performed outside, including walking to and from residential buildings, and other locations on the campus. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the employee include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, etc.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work :

    This position is full-time with office hours Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Fridays. This position will require long hours seasonally and occasional weekend work.

    Required Education and Experience :

    • Graduate degree required data science, applied mathematics, statistics, psychology, higher education administration, or other relevant education preferred
    • Minimum 7 years of experience in higher education related to data analysis, outcomes, or assessment preferred
    • Fluency with a data visualization tool (Tableau, PowerBI, Domo, Looker)
    • Demonstrated ability and experience in partnering to achieve a team-based approach to student success
    • Demonstrated ability to develop a student-centered and collaborative departmental culture

    Preferred Education and Experience :

    • Senior level experience in higher education related to data analysis, outcomes, or assessment preferred
    • Expert level experience in data visualization (Tableau, PowerBI, Domo, Looker)
    • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to higher education student affairs processes, policies, and engagement

    In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual salary range for this position is $89,000 - $110,000.     The Sr. Sales Account Executive duties and responsibilities include:

    • Identify, qualify, orchestrate and close new business within the assigned territory leveraging compelling return on investment that the Kofax solution provides.
    • Work closely with our Lead Generation Team, Inside Sales Team, and Sales Engineer resources to create and manage a strong pipeline of new business in both existing customers and prospects
    • Effectively manage multiple concurrent sales cycles effectively
    • Understand and articulate the value of the Kofax solutions to VP and C-level audiences which align to the prospects strategic objectives
    • Establish and maintain strong and referenceable relationships with our existing client base.
    • Qualify and forecast deals accurately and consistently.
    • Develop and execute field marketing activities to drive pipeline growth
    • Grow and maintain a deep and wide set of contacts across all lines of business within each target account.  Target of no less than 40 contact points across each organization. 
    • Actively work with internal teams to perform all the necessary steps for effective prospecting and qualification.  The Sr. Sales Account Executive is expected to create a pipe no less than 4X of their license quota
    • Work very closely with Kofax’s list of partners to jointly engage in prospecting, qualifying, calls or visits according to strategic account mapping plans with the Partners.
