    Environmental, Health, and Safety Intern POSITION SUMMARY BorgWarner is currently looking for a dynamic, results-driven individual to join our team as an EHS Intern to the Strategic Risk Management EHS Team at our World Headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This position works collaboratively with EHS Team in developing and implementing key strategic initiatives, placing an emphasis on further developing our strong safety culture and environmental stewardship, ensuring the safety of our employees, customers and the communities we work in. This individual requires superior communication and organizational skills, critical thinking, attention to detail, an ability to maintain confidentiality, take initiative and provide highly responsive, proactive support. Incumbent must also be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Performance will be measured on successful completion of projects that help accomplish Departmental objectives. This role will involve significant interaction with a wide variety of functions within BorgWarner, and offers the opportunity to gain in depth experience in environmental risk management, within a global enterprise. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Global EHS Auditing Program * Assist in managing and coordinating EHS auditing program schedules, meetings, training and corrective action reviews. * Review, distribute and coordinate the Global sharing of Good EHS business practices. * Maintain and organize Corrective Action database related to EHS auditing program. * Assist in reviewing and developing practices, procedures and training related to program. * Assist in developing and presenting data analytics regarding the audit program. EHS Management Systems * Coordinate and manage database of all Global ISO 14001/45001 plant certificates. * Assist plants in scheduling Surveillance audits and Certifications audits. * Assist in developing and presenting Guidance Documents and Standards regarding EMS. * Assist in developing training, seminars, and meetings around BorgWarners SMS and EMS. Enterprise EHS * Manage the structure and content of the ICE Global EHS Site, to facilitate improved user experience with locating information, sharing ideas and collaborating Globally. * Collect and analyze EHS data, including root causes as they relate to Global Star Safety Framework (GSSF), and corrective actions. Periodically publish reports on trends. * Manage the administration of the BW Safety Award Program. Promote Reporting Unit (RU) attainment of awards. * Develop EHS technical topic summaries / guidance documents. Store and share on the ICE (intranet) Global EHS Site. * Set-up global webinars for improving knowledge sharing, on topics such as Energy reduction, EMS good practices, EHS auditing updates, Regional specific training opportunities, etc. * Support Business Unit (BU) EHS Committee leaders in sharing ideas and processes across BUs. * Set-up local, regional and global webinars for improving knowledge sharing, on topics such as Energy reduction, EHS good practices, EHS auditing updates, EHS Standards, Regional specific training opportunities, etc. * Drafts and edits documents, reports, spreadsheets and correspondence; creates presentations in PowerPoint, including graphics and animation; maintains organizational charts * Complete related projects as directed. Safety and Health Responsible for completing required safety training, reporting and correcting any unsafe practices as appropriate, completing work activities in a safe manner, and complying with safety and health requirements for respective position.
