    Job Description

    The Product Quality Engineer serves as the initial claim entry gatekeeper and the customer’s point of contact for administrative and material related quality issues for the Graphics and Window films business.  This role will drive quality information and improvements throughout the organization. This role is focused on creating robust solutions to enhance Customer’s experience with our products throughout the value stream.

    Representative Activities

    Activities and duties will vary depending upon the functional area assigned but are scoped to cover administrative and quality claims for the Graphics and Window films business.  Activities may include, but are not limited to:

    • Interact with the customer via email or telephone to collect information relating to quality issues. Records this information and performs the necessary steps to discern whether or not a refund is due and selection of the claim code to correctly characterize the issue in the system.  

    • Responsible for the entire claim entry process from initial entry to credit generation. 

    • Act as a customer advocate, providing valuable feedback to the organization on customer needs and satisfaction.  

    • Ensure that we are responsive to customer needs through timely processing of complaints. 

    • Interact as needed with Sales, site resources, IT, Customer Service, and divisional technical resources to obtain information pertinent to understanding and resolving customer quality issues.

    • Follow established process for handling customer refunds forwarded by accounts receivable.

    • Coordinate material testing in order to diagnose product issues when necessary.

    • Lead quality improvement projects which address critical shortfalls in materials and/ or claim processing

    • Serve as the direct liaison between the North American LGM team and Hanita team on quality related issues

    • Manages transportation related claims through filing of claims with carriers and working with the transportation department as needed.

    • Provide training when needed to both team members and external personnel.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science required.  In lieu of a degree, at least 3 years of related work experience could be considered.  

    • Prior manufacturing experience preferred.

    • 1-3 years of Customer Service, Quality, or related experience desired

    • Strong customer service skills - written, verbal and telephone communication skills

    • Understanding of applicable computer software and systems, such as Google G Suite, Lotus Notes, and function specific software (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Word, QIS, Oracle)

    • Attention to detail & organizational skills

    • Strong problem solving skills and ability to work through issues with incomplete information
