About the Job:
This is a clerical internship within the business library located at Peoria, AB. As a Library Intern at Caterpillar, you will assist the Business Resource Center staff with providing Caterpillar researchers with the best internal and external industry knowledge and information sources to drive quality and innovation across the enterprise.
Responsibilities:
Document Administrator: Load internal and external documents into the content discovery system, provide usage and access reports, and maintain dashboard directories, while maintaining awareness, understanding, and adherence to corporate procedures related to protection of proprietary intellectual property.
Patron Account Management: Request accounts and grant access for Caterpillar employees to limited access databases, both in the library management systems and external providers.
Circulation: Perform circulation processes including checkout, overdue notices, shelving, create alerts and/or other information distribution plans based on customer requirements.
Knowledge Portal Maintenance: Assist in the development, maintenance, content collection, and summer project to re-design homepage and topical dashboards.
Ad hoc Project Work: Work on data collection or administrative project work for library staff and within the Competitive Intelligence division, or other information related projects for Enterprise Strategy or the larger Caterpillar organization. Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
Background/Experience:
The incumbent must possess skills in typing, filing, and be proficient in computer skills including MS Office, e-mail and web-based applications. Good communication skills, the ability to work well in a team environment and a strong customer focus are required as well. The incumbent must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.

$21.00 - $37.50
Intern Hour Rate:
An intern's hourly rate is based on the major/degree being pursued and the number of completed academic hours achieved before the start of the internship.
