OUR STAUNTON, VA FACILITY IS LOOKING FOR A OPERATOR TO SUPPORT OUR FINISHING DEPARTMENT. THIS POSITION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SET UP AND MAINTAINING FOLDER/GLUER EQUIPMENT AND PROCESSES TO PRODUCE FOLDING CARTONS.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES ARE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Set up and maintain the folder/gluer to produce folding cartons
• Locate and load proper stock in preparation for operation
• Prepares make-ready feeder, prefold, glue system, final fold, delivery, pack station and inspection system
• Operates folder/gluer in accordance with customer specifications and current standard operating procedures
• Ensures total quality of the job while in operation
• Maintains the machine and area in accordance with the standard operation procedures
• Demonstrates competency in all basic folds: straight-line, lock-bottom, inner partition, etc.
• Complete all job logs as required
• Performs other job duties as assigned
• Follow all company safety requirements
• Comply with all company rules and regulations

AN INDIVIDUAL IN THIS POSITION MUST BE ABLE TO LEARN AND DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS;

• Ability to read and follow instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve gluer problems
• Mechanical aptitude

Required Skills

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma/GED OR At least three years of professional working experience, preferred in a manufacturing environment, preferred folding carton manufacturing experience
• SKILLS: Mechanical
• Position will either work a 12-hour shift (day or night) which follows a 3-2-2-3 day schedule, overtime during the week and weekends may be required based on production needs and vacation coverage

PREFERRED CHARACTERISTICS:

• At least five years of manufacturing environment, preferred folding carton manufacturing experience and in a position as a gluer (finishing) operator
