    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The Feeder/Catcher position accomplishes a variety of functions within the Finishing Department operation to ensure that safety, quality, productivity, and communications standards are met and maintained. Feeder/Catchers work in a Team to Feed unfinished flat paperboard cartons into a Gluing machine, Catch finished folded/glued paperboard cartons to inspect for Quality and Sort out or Pack, at the end of the production line. They understand and align business operations within the Finishing Department as they execute their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

    SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

    • 1st Shift
    • Must be willing and able to work overtime.

    Required Skills

    JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following

    • Work within and adhere to GPI’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork.
    • Responsible for understanding and adhering to all GMP, Safety, Food Safety, Quality Rules and Procedures (Training will be provided).
    • Safely operate pallet jacks, power dolly/lift, or other warehouse equipment.
    • Feed flat cartons into glue machine bed.
    • Catch and inspect finished goods to assure customer quality expectations are maintained.
    • Hand Pack finished cartons into corrugated boxes.
    • Hand label and stamp corrugated boxes for finished goods as instructed.
    • Hand Glue or Rework cartons occasionally as instructed.
    • Assists Glue Machine Operator in any way needed to keep machine running.
    • Maintain workflow and communicate with Warehouse and Material Handlers to ensure the availability of corrugated boxes for the finishing lines.
    • Assist with Make Readies.
    • Assist the Case Sealer.
    • Maintain the cleanliness of the area (remove stray cartons, sweep up, etc.).
    • Follow all Plant Safety rules and maintain a safe working environment.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

     

    • Comply with company Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
    • Share an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International’s good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our core values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork
    • Ability to follow directions and work well in a solo or team environment.

    • Ability to learn documentation procedures for movement of materials and be able to complete the forms efficiently and accurately.
    • Basic mechanical skills
    • Good attendance

    Required Experience

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma/Equivalent preferred. 
    • Basic reading and writing.
    • Basic math.

     

    PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Work environment involves constant exposure to adverse conditions such as dust, noise, fumes, weather, poor lighting, or heavy machinery/equipment.
    • Awkward and/or repetitive movements.
    • Grasping, Gripping, Climbing, Walking, Standing, Bending, Reaching, Pushing, Pulling, Sweeping, and other.
    • Frequent Lifting up to 50 lbs.
    • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment.
    • Ability to hear and speak.
    • Visual acuity at short distances. This is needed to detect variances in job numbers, register and collator marks.
    • Color vision needed to detect inappropriate color of product.
