Trains Assembler 1 and Assembly Technicians to increase their knowledge base. Responsibilities - Performs maintenance of assembly/process stations. - Troubleshoots defects, inefficiencies, and advanced technical problems using schematics, multimeter, and production test equipment. Develops and implements countermeasures and makes modification as needed to resolve problems and prevent recurrence. Informs and/or trains operator with respect to changes. - Maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, and orders parts for various pieces of electrical and mechanical test equipment (e.g., transfer guide location equipment, digital thermometers, laser alignment equipment). - Performs repairs and/or makes minor modifications or improvements to correct and/or increase equipment/process efficiency. Maintains the stock of hand tools and supplies used in production. Conducts monthly stock inventory. - Designs, fabricates, and/or modifies minor tools, fixtures, jigs, and cables to increase efficiency. - Interacts with QA and/or Manufacturing Engineering to ensure conformance with quality standards. - Assists with the implementation of improvement activities.

    • May assist with the design/redesign and layout of work stations to maximize efficiency, ensure smooth line flow, and maintain balance. May be responsible for the air gun maintenance, torque verification, issuance and collection, and line set up. Assists in the investigation and development of countermeasures to quality problems. - Develops test plans, instructs the proper methods for performing the tests and reports on results. Trains personnel in testing and/or sampling practices and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance to established testing, sampling and inspection standards. Develops and implements check sheets, procedures or work instructions that instruct the data collection and methods for properly performing the operations, tests or inspections. - Coordinates, performs and reports the results of process audits. Assists in the development of countermeasures and verifies their effectiveness. Coordinates and maintains the Problem Investigation Reports. - Reviews, analyzes and verifies checksheet information/report accuracy of tests performed by other personnel. - Utilizes computer (e.g., Excel, Word, MS Access) applications for tracking of quality data and reporting (e.g., testing, daily, monthly) and correspondence generation. - Applies statistical techniques (e.g., process capability, distributions) and utilizes to monitor and improve quality. - Reads and understands mechanical and electrical drawings and diagrams. - Knows and complies with ISO-9000 requirements. - Compiles and reports daily and monthly off-line inventory, defective parts data, production statistics, and quality checks. Maintains documentation of machine failures, down time, and repairs. - May maintain inventory control of expense items for production. May monitor parts listings and trial verifications to ensure accuracy. May be responsible for cartridge/P-Kit/developer control and issuance. May check to ensure that PM checks are performed; may issue new PM procedures as needed. - May maintain up-to-date Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). May maintain repair/troubleshooting reference manual. May maintain and file job instructions, work standards, change notices, and technical data. May be assigned additional duties and/or special projects. Qualifications - Any combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associates Degree with 3-5 years mechanical repair and/or electrical troubleshooting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. - Strong analytical and communication skills.
    • May have to work overtime and may be assigned to other shifts based on company needs.
