Job Description SUMMARY Must be skilled on all toolroom equipment. Must work from sketches and blueprints to make machine parts and tooling for all production machines. Must be able to work with engineering and operators to do tooling modifications and improvements. Must assist supervisor in maintaining enough levels of spare tooling. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Operates all conventional equipment, tool room lathes, surface grinders, milling machines, etc. to produce parts to blueprint dimensions. Will be Trained on the operation and setup of the EDM machine in how to burn carbide Dies. Will be Trained on the processes of how to finish the Dies by polishing them to a 4 to 6 surface finishes. Will be Trained to Operates hydraulic hand press to press carbide inserts into and out of cases. Will be Trained to repair the Die as needed. Maintain toolroom equipment, notifies supervisor or maintenance Dept. of any necessary repairs or safety issues. Must be able to understand departmental documentation and be able to process accurately. Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
