    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Carrier is seeking graduates with Model Based Development skills (MBD) to join our ENGINEERING GRADUATE HIRE PROGRAM (GHP) . As a GHP Associate, you will have hands-on engineering experience in a supported, closely mentored cohort. You will have opportunities to launch and develop your career, interact with leadership, and develop a strong professional network. Carrier is investing in model-based development across the organization in all business units. The skills of interest in this position are in the MBD areas: Modeling, Systems, Controls, Data Analytics, and Cloud Computing. The areas of interest include simulation and system/control analytics, where the use of physics-based models and various data sources are used to compute quantities of interest to guide decision making in system design, controls, aftermarket, and diagnostics decision making. The position includes strong use of scientific computing and the application of both known and new algorithms in the areas of System/Controls Model Based Development. The MBD Engineer will support the development of standard tools, libraries & workflows in the areas of system modeling or systems/controls MBD or data analytics or cloud computing that is consistent with MBD tools. The MBD Engineer will work with global, cross-disciplinary teams to develop and deploy MBD technologies to create the next generation of Carrier products.

    KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Specific responsibilities for this position will be:

    • Identify, implement, and demonstrate appropriate system modeling or system/controls MBD or Data Analytics methods to address a variety of business needs.
    • Develop MBD methods/algorithms for improved products and engineering processes.
    • Provide support to engineering teams in the area of MBD. This includes the development, delivery, and support of new workflows, problem formulations, software/utilities, and models.
    • Provide guidelines for model development and implement diagnostic tools to troubleshoot models for the Carrier applications and business unit needs.
  • Qualifications
    • US Citizen or Permanent Resident
    • Solid background in model-based development and Analytical/numerical analysis
    • Experience in physics-based modeling and Analytical/parametric solution strategy.
    • Experience in system steady-state/dynamic modeling capabilities or system optimization/ variability or controls design/analysis or data analytics or cloud computing capabilities
    • Domain knowledge in HVAC/R systems
    • Software programming skills, including knowledge of current programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, Matlab, Simulink), operating systems (Linux, Windows), and HPC/Cloud (AWS) environments.
    • Strong problem-solving capability and intellectual curiosity

    REQUIRED LEADERSHIP SKILLS

    • Proven deliverable of quality products (preferable use of quality tools/methods) to customer
    • Experience with reviewing the work of others and defining standard specifications and test plans
    • Experience with the creation and delivery of software, projects, and training modules
    • Fluent English (both written and spoken), solid technical writing, presentation, and communication skills.

    EDUCATION:

    • Master's or Ph.D. degree in an Engineering or Mathematics or Computer Science or Data Analytics, or STEM-related field with 3 years of experience (preferred).
    • 3.2 GPA preferred, 3.0 minimum
