As a Supply Chain Performance Engineer at Caterpillar, you will have an opportunity to implement an order fulfillment process, Material Replenishment Collaboration (MRC), and lean principles throughout the supply chain at Building Construction Products, which includes both suppliers and customers. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: * Defining and implementing supply chain flow for lean production. * Defining and implementing rough cut capacity planning within the supply chain * Defining and implementing replenishment strategies to support order fulfillment throughout the entire supply chain to create more value with less waste. The lean supply project strategies are from Caterpillar Production Systems. * Implementing a robust process to error proof just-in-time deliveries. This requires determining correct order fulfillment method strategy as well as designing pull systems and determining proper replenishment strategies and proper buffer sizes and placements. Also, implementing a pull system with frequent small lot replenishment established between each of the firms and facilities along a value stream. * Training various levels of management exempt and non-exempt personnel on lean order fulfillment processes and suppliers. This will require training all levels of employees, from the General Manager to the hourly line employees. * Acting as an advisor or consultant to senior management. * Serving as a company-wide resource on a highly specialized area or serve multiple units in a broader functional area and assisting senior management in interpreting and using information provided. Required Qualifications: * Bachelors degree required, preferably in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Material Management or Industrial Engineering * Three years or more of progressively responsible job-related experience. * Must be willing to travel 25% or more Desired Qualifications: * Lean Six Sigma Experience * Strong computer skills i.e. Microsoft Word and Excel. * Strong written and verbal communication skills * APICS Certification * Strong knowledge of most of the following: material control, purchasing, parts distribution, inventory control, manufacturing operations and traffic systems. * Working knowledge of company products and good analytical skills. * Excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.
