This is a great way to gain hands on experience with an exciting manufacturing company in your field of interest. Below are a few areas of open internship positions. Application Support & Development - As an Application Development intern, you will be assigned to a team developing and supporting IT applications that are used globally by internal and external process partners. Our applications are both purchased and in-house developed, within a complex environment integrated across the functional areas of our company. This provides a significant challenge and the ability to work on varying tools and software languages to help our end users be effective. Students will join a team to define, develop, implement, integrate, and support world-class information systems using a broad tool base of .Net web applications, Service Oriented Architecture, SQL server technologies Enterprise Data, Micro Services, and Analytics Platforms - Students will be directly engaged in strategic programs to deploy Caterpillar's enterprise data platform. This enterprise data platform is based on emerging cloud technologies -- ingesting data from a diverse group of business domains where it is harmonized into common models and micro-services that drive business insights and new digital business models. Students will be placed into two primary roles, Data Engineer and Micro-service Engineer. Data Engineers will design and build the data pipeline from source to value model, and Micro- service Engineers will design and build micro-services that deliver common reusable logic. Spring 2019: January 7, 2019 April 26, 2019 This is a 40 hour per week assignment, lasting 16 weeks, with potential for extending into the summer.
