This team closelydevelops and executes business & product strategy by consolidating VOC fromfield-facing marketing, sales& dealer support teams and collaboratingclosely with internal & external development partners to develop, introduce& support cutting edge solutions to the market. **JOBPURPOSE:**To lead a Business Unit wide multi-functional team which manages all phases ofthe NPI (New Product Introduction) process for assigned products. The specificproducts assigned to this position will be Basic Telematics Visualizationproducts and related APIs. **JOBDUTIES:**This position takes responsibility for the overall management of the team andthe day-to-day resource issues. The incumbent is responsible for identifyingand finding improvement opportunities that exist across each of the differentprocesses and executing strategies to address them. This position is responsible foridentifying and defining product problems and ensuring this is passed to therelevant person within the business to resolve. Acts as the link between the field-facingteams (working closely with dealers/ customers) and product & quality productsupport teams. This position identifies productopportunities and determines technology enhancements, which offer cost/valuefor the customer. Directs the activities of the NPI Team and determines thescope of work including costing and pricing, selecting, negotiating, andadministering agreements. Develops specific plans for programexecution and monitors actual performance. Negotiates changes to programsincluding cost, price, supplier selection, etc. Directs changes required due toperformance or reliability problems. Provides input into departmental marketingstrategies for assigned products and markets. Acts as the NPI expert insupporting all project teams. As the overall manager of these areastakes responsibility for all the areas described above and therefore requiresexpertise in each of the different fields. The NPI Program Manager takesresponsibility for the overall management of the team and the day-to-dayresource issues. The incumbent is also responsible for identifying and findingimprovement opportunities that exist across each of the different processes andexecuting strategies to address them. Typical major internal customers includeteam members from DESD, ITDD, DSD, GCI, BCP and Product Groups. Externalcontacts include dealers, customers, and external partners. The position ischallenged to carefully evaluate problems and review a large number of possiblesolutions before selecting one option. Problems may be complex and can requirethe incumbent to develop solutions. The incumbent sets priorities andestablishes a work plan, in order to complete broadly defined assignments andachieve desired results. Impacts key quality goals including Customer Satisfaction,Continuous Improvement, Timeliness, Accuracy, Efficiency, Cost Savings, ProcessQuality, etc. The position monitors adherence to quality standards and developsaction plans for addressing below standard performance.
