Tasks are routine in nature with some judgment and recommendation required. Decisions/actions may cause a minor impact on the work unit operations or schedules. Works under general Supervision. Situations not covered by standard processes, procedures and methods are referred to a higher level or expert resource. Deals directly with immediate supervisor, co-workers and team members. Engage in exchanges of factual information and provides some explanation.. Have interactions with external contacts, if applicable, with guidance. Require exchanging factual information and providing some explanation. Highlight problems and suggest solutions to manager or supervisor. Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following: Performs routine work such as filing, copying and faxing. Performs data entries and post accounting transactions with high degree of accuracy.Takes on accounting jobs assigned by the supervisor from time to time Knowledge/Skills/Competencies: - Familiar with computer applications of Microsoft Office, above average ability to manipulate Excel spreadsheets and basic knowledge of MRP modules. Knowledge of and ability to operate routine office equipment. - Ability to enter detailed data from source documents into various databases with speed and a high degree of accuracy. - Ability to evaluate and prioritize a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion, while working with frequent and ongoing interruptions. - Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers. Includes participating in team discussions. - Ability to efficiently organize, file and retrieve hard copy and electronic information relating to the business of the work unit. - Basic understanding of accounting (debit, credits, assets, liabilities). - Ability to engage and work well with others team members. - Ability to communicate with English both verbally and in writing. Physical Demands: - Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment - Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data - Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc) Typical Experience: None to one year of relevant experience preferred but not required Typical Education: High school diploma and additional accounting courses in colleges, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
