  • Responsibilities

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Cell Engineer will provide floor level leadership of the production cell functions relating to the coating operation functions. Lead, direct, and facilitate the activities of the operator (tower and quality) in multiple work cells to maximize value added labor and efficiency and eliminate the need for any non-value-added activity outside of the work cell. Interface with quality assurance, design, customer service, safety and other operational areas to immediately address any issues or areas for improvement.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Learn automation - Ignition, PLC’s Data Reporting, Equipment Controls

    • Quarterly performance presentations - to the management team along with weekly and monthly meetings with team and shift crew.

    • Maintenance - Training on how to diagnose and repair equipment, Autonomous and Preventive Maintenance planning and responsibilities.

    • Process Engineering - Working with process team on manufacturing improvements, lead two - (2) initiatives annually.

    • WCM - train & participate on improvement events, lead one event per quarter.

    • Leadership - supervise the crews assigned to their equipment reporting to Operations manager.

    • Coordinate with quality team and participate in annual product reviews.

    • Support and encourage employees; maintain good relationships

    • Understand and follow workflow and instruction procedures

    • Plan for and ensure that assembly tasks are completed

    • Solve production problems and remove barriers to performance

    • Contribute personally to the completion of assembly tasks

    • Maintain safe, professional, and organized work environment

    • Manage work schedules and overtime requirements within guidelines

    • Achieve cell production targets and goals

    • Ensure that employees are properly trained

    • Ensure quality defects are contained, reported, and repaired in a timely manner; resolve production quality issues

    • Provide recognition and constructive feedback; keep direct employees informed

    • Accept constructive feedback and adjust practices

    • Communicate to manager any issues with manpower, equipment, or materials that would prevent the cell from meeting the daily production requirements.

    ADDITIONAL DESCRIPTION

    • Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Experience

    • 2-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
