    Intern, Ready-Mix - 1890 Parkway Blvd, West Sacramento, California - Interns / College Graduates - Mar 06, 2018 - Job summary: A Ready-Mix Concrete Intern will be responsible for learning fundamental aspects of the business while concurrently participating in a continuous improving project. The projects are designed to have a real financial impact on the business and interns will be tasked with presenting their findings during the conclusion of this evaluated internship. Upon satisfactory completion, interns may be extended a job offer dependent upon successful graduation. Duties and responsibilities: - As a Ready-Mix Concrete Intern, you will: - Be an advocate for safety - Acquire specific knowledge on the practices of the business line - Learn by working in fundamental positions of the business line - Obtain a network of contacts - Complete a Continuous Improvement and present findings to local management - Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds - Meet or exceed company safety standards - Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management Qualifications: - Must be in 3rd or 4th year of completing your Bachelor's Degree. Bachelor's Degree preferred in: - Concrete Industry Management - Construction related field - Engineering (Civil, Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical) - Business Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Highly proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel skills - Strong attention to detail - Possesses analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills - Ability to prioritize projects, allocate resources and interact with all levels in an organization - Strong interpersonal skills Working conditions: - Capability to work extended hours as necessary - Ability to work with standard office/computer equipment - Capable of working in an open office environment - Capable of working in a construction site, manufacturing site, and/or industrial setting - Ability to participate in required overnight travel as necessary - Some exposure to dust, noise, and extreme temperatures Physical requirements: - Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear to communicate to employees/visitors
