CNC MACHINE OPERATOR I
We have a great opportunity for a motivated self-starter in our Manufacturing Design Group. The Manufacturing Design group, within Innovation and Design, is primarily responsible for translating final paperboard carton specifications into production-ready cutting tooling used by GPI converting facilities to produce finished paperboard cartons that meet customer needs, expectations, and requirements. The translation of specifications into tooling encompasses Layout, Programming, and Tooling Ordering processes and procedures utilizing both ArtiosCAD and SAP software applications. The CNC Operator position supports the manufacturing Design team by producing phenolic and steel counter plates that directly support our nation-wide network of commercial converting operations.
The CNC Machine Operator position’s primary responsibility is to operate the counter production room which supports GPI’s platen plant operations. This requires scheduling, running milling machines, reviewing the milling files, inspecting and cleaning the counters, shipping the counters to their final destinations. The person in this position should be familiarity with CAM driven machine operations such as CNC machining and have solid computer skills.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
Schedule Management and Machine Operations
Operator of all CAM driven milling machines
Maintain Inventory of raw materials and tools for counter room operations
Operate forklifts and clamp trucks as necessary
Perform Preventative maintenance and assist with other maintenance on machines and systems associated with the machines

Required Skills
High-level of mechanical knowledge and aptitude for CNC machining, printing/coating, die cutting, production tooling design, finishing processes, and graphics layout
Prior demonstrated experience (1-2 years) with hands-on production on a CAM driven machine
Working knowledge of paperboard substrates
Working knowledge of carton structural design
Prior experience with ArtiosCAD, MasterCAM, and SAP
Prior Knowledge of Mgrav, Datron, Lasercomb, and/or Gerber milling machines
Prior mechanical or electrical maintenance experience in an industrial/commercial environment
Any level of LEAN / Six Sigma education and experience
Use SAP and GPI CAD System for all daily functions and reports
Knowledge of machines within the facility
Required Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Solid Computer Skills and High Proficiency with computer systems: CAD/CAM software, Programming, MS-Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
Machine Operation Experience
