    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Chromalloy is actively searching for a results driven professional eager for exposure to a complex manufacturing environment.  The Chromalloy New York HR Coordinator/Payroll role is an operational, hands-on role that provides full life cycle Human Resources support to the CNY facility.  The individual in this role is responsible for providing HR support to employees and first line leaders in the areas of Payroll, Benefits, Employee Relations, Training, Payroll Administration, Benefits Administration and Policy Compliance. The Payroll Administrator will comply with all professional standards and follow all state and federal regulatory requirements and laws. The Payroll Administrator will have primary responsibility for processing payroll, vendor and interdepartmental contact as appropriate. This role reports to the Human Resources Business Partner.

     

    ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Provides day to day “hands on” transactional and operational HR support for Union and Non-Union employees.
    • Reviews employee timecards in e-Time for Union and Non-Union employees (both salary & hourly).
    • Work in tandem with the Payroll Department to ensure all timecards are correct.
    • Provide the Payroll Department with corrections to be made to timecards, including any necessary retro-calculations to be paid.
    • Provide analytical support as needed to HRBPs and Generalist
    • Assist with New Hire Orientation and onboarding.
    • Completes employee change notices to the Corporate Shared Services Team.
    • Maintain facility badge system.
    • Processes and maintains accurate records for all employees on STD, LTD, FMLA. Provide weekly reports to HRBP on leave statuses.
    • Coordinates open enrollment periods for employees, answers employee benefit questions, researches benefit issues, and resolves benefit concerns in partnership with the Corporate Shared Services Team.
    • Compiles data from employee records, and HRIS system to prepare reports.
    • Assists in maintaining and distributing current employee information, policy and procedure manuals, and other communication.
    • Conducts recruitment activities targeted to attract the industry’s best and brightest candidates; post openings, reviews applications and resumes, sets up interviews, prepares documents and conducts new employee onboarding.  Ensures new hire understanding of the corporation’s benefit plans, Company policies and Company procedures.
    • Assist with AAP and outreach.
    • Maintains a strong shop floor presence; monitors the "pulse" of employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement; Deploys Chromalloy’s recognition and engagement programs to drive higher levels of employee performance; Coordinates employee relations activities at the plant level (Wellness Events, Service Award Programs, Recognition lunches, etc.)
    • Supports Employee Relations.
    • Provide weekly reports to the Union and Quality Department
    • Assists management on Compliance issues, Employee Training, Discipline, Terminations and I-9 document control.

    CHALLENGES

    • Establishing trust and credibility with site leadership, HR organization, Union and non-Union employees will be a key success factor. Building strong influence relationships at the site will be key to this individual’s success. 
    • Managing a virtual relationship with a Shared Services team.
    • Managing multiple priorities in a high velocity change environment.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

    • An Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
      • A Bachelor’s degree or certification in HR is preferred.
    • 3-5 years providing HR administrative, HR systems and payroll support is required.
    • HRIS Systems knowledge is required (ADP / EV5 / SAP / Oracle / Other).
    • knowledge of ADP systems (EV5 a plus), iReports, Smart Compliance, eTime.
    • Payroll experience is required.
    • Manufacturing Experience is preferred.
    • Labor / Union Relations Experience is preferred.
    • General knowledge of employment laws and practices including labor law compliance, EEO, AA, and benefits programs is required.
