    Job Description

    Engineering interns will be engaged in the manufacture of nickel base super alloy gas turbine aerospace components. The processes employed at Chromalloy include grind machining, electrical discharge machining, brazing, heat treat, shot peening, chemical cleaning and inspection measurement techniques. Chromalloy interns will be utilized in all areas of Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality.

    POSITION SUMMARY:  Support engineering team in reviewing product specifications, processes, system updates and overall department support.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  The duties and responsibilities regularly performed for this position are:

    • Assists in creation and improvement of manufacturing processes utilizing engineering input, engineering drawings, process mapping, and machine capabilities.
    • Assists in development and refinement of work instructions, work scopes, routers, and BOMs
    • Works with cost accounting to define cycle & takt times to generate standard hour measurements on the shop floor
    • Assist in data collection, scrubbing, and refinement of capacity studies
    • Collects data and maintains metrics using Microsoft Office suite
    • Maintains safe and orderly work areas, understands and is compliant with organization’s policies and procedures

    EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: 

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial engineering or another related field required
    • 30+ hours of engineering core and degree related courses completed preferred
    • Position requires excellent oral and written communications, self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, strong data analysis & technical problem solving, strong organizational skills, multitasking ability, and excellent computer skills.

    LOCATION:   Onsite at Windsor, CT location
