    Job Description

    ** POSITION SUMMARY:**

    The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager practices to ensure that a workplace environment is continually safe. Those working in the field help to monitor and reduce environmental hazards such as chemical pollution, radiation and structural risks.

    ** PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** :

    • Monitor hazards using scientific instruments.
    • Work is routinely done in-field, checking locations like factories or mines that have the potential to be unsafe for human uses.
    • Report their findings to decision makers and regulatory officials, and sometimes develop recommendations on how to improve the conditions of an environment to reduce or avoid hazards.
    • Plans, develops and manages company policies for adhering to local, state and federal environment, health and safety regulations.
    • Designs and develops facilities, work areas and work procedures.
    • Directs preparation, maintenance, and updating of environmental policy and procedure manuals.
    • Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
    • Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.

    ** EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:**

    • Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
    • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
    • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
    • Performs a variety of complex tasks.
    • Leads and directs the work of others.
    • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
