    Job Description

    Chromalloy is currently looking for a Summer Intern. In this position you will be exposed to various gas turbine parts and associated engineering activities to potentially include component analysis

    BASIC POSITION FUNCTION:

    Responsible for supporting various engineering functions

    TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

    No previous experience required

    TYPICAL EDUCATION:

    In-process of Engineering B.S. degree, preferably M.S. degree (Typical Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace)

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/TASKS:

    • Basic familiarity of gas turbine operation 
    • Assists in the design, inspections, modeling and analysis of new and repaired turbine, compressor, and combustor components
    • Apply project management capability to successfully complete assigned portions of projects; considering technical and schedule requirements
    • Show willingness to collaborate in a team environment to support develop component designs and repairs, to meet Chromalloy and customer requirements for cost, performance, and durability.
    • Owns focused technical aspects of assigned components and or processes through the relevant stages of analysis and potentially the manufacturing process.
    • Participate in troubleshooting process/production/laboratory problems, identify and implement actions/solutions, and report out results.
    • Prepare accurate written technical reports and documentation.
    • Prepare and deliver presentations of completed work to various levels of management
    • Work in analytical and lab environments, with potential travel required.

    • Basic familiarity of engineering analytic methodologies and tools obtained through education and projects.
    • Hands-on and analytic experience with engineering team projects
    • Ability to troubleshoot and work through routine and non-routine problems.
    • Works with supervision in all aspects of role; understanding priorities with assigned projects, requesting necessary resources, collaborating with peers, and meeting goals and objectives

    EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: 

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial engineering or another related field required
    • 30+ hours of engineering core and degree related courses completed preferred
    • Position requires excellent oral and written communications, self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, strong data analysis & technical problem solving, strong organizational skills, multitasking ability, and excellent computer skills.
