    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY:  Chromalloy is looking for a Power Plant Engineer to be an integral part of the Engineering department at the San Diego Site. The incumbent will be responsible for providing technical support for the repair and overhaul of gas turbine engine programs to ensure final deliverable is a quality product and meets contractual obligations. 

    In order to  perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions for the position.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

    The essential functions of this position are:

    • Establish work repair plans for engines and components undergoing repair/overhaul.
    • Develop engineering methods & procedures to optimize engine performance and existing repairs.
    • Write detailed investigation reports; suggest improvement to production and quality control techniques.
    • Control and manage ERP system as it relates to engine work scopes and configuration management.
    • Control and manage all necessary tooling for the gas turbine engines including designs, modeling, revisions and database.
    • Position requires excellent oral and written communications, self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, strong data analysis & technical problem solving, strong organizational skills, multitasking ability, and excellent computer skills.

    EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, similar discipline, or equivalent experience.
    • 3-5 years experience with turbine engine/aircraft overhaul and aviation maintenance engineering.
    • Familiarity with gas turbine engine principles including test cell, vibration and failure analysis.
    • Experience performing maintenance on aircraft jet or gas turbine engines and components.
    • Experience with the use of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
