    Job Description

    ** Summary:** __ Supports trade compliance activities of Chromalloy Gas Turbine LLC and its subsidiaries in the United States and Mexico. This includes providing assistance with internal compliance audits, business partner due diligence, watchlist screening and drafting, training and auditing internal trade compliance policies and processes across all of Chromalloy’s North American sites. The candidate will also be responsible for following and summarizing all regulatory and statutory changes, language revisions and new rulemaking in the trade compliance sector. Position requires consistent interaction with the sales, business development and procurement teams and other members of the Legal Department and Trade Compliance team in support of Chromalloy’s business endeavors. The ideal candidate will have a background in both import and export regulations in a regulated industry (preferably aerospace and defense) and how they impact commercial operations.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Provide support to the Trade Compliance Managers in Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), US Schedule B numbers and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) classification numbers.
    • Perform due diligence, know your customer (KYC) research and denied party screenings on business partners and related entities
    • Support Chromalloy’s North American sites with prompt responses to day to day enquiries on trade compliance issues
    • Provide assistance in drafting, training, and enforcing End Use Statement procedures, including End Use Statement review and approval
    • Identify and report any potential risks, red flags or other areas of concern in commercial transactions
    • Assist in drafting of export licenses and proper recordkeeping of license exceptions / exemptions
    • Conduct document review and document marking exercises to ensure proper classification and labeling of trade sensitive data
    • Coordinate with Legal and Trade Compliance team on audits, recordkeeping, classifications, disclosures, export licenses and export license exceptions / exemptions.

    ** Challenges:**

    • Managing multiple high-priority requests for assistance with time sensitive deadlines.
    • Changing business needs and priorities will require someone who can adjust quickly with good composure and solid planning / prioritization skills.
    • Matrixed corporate structure must be learned and navigated to be successful.
    • If coming from outside the aerospace industry, a substantial learning curve can be expected.

    Qualifications

    Education : Bachelor’s Degree

    Experience: 3-5 years of progressive experience including at least 2 years in an equivalent role in a similar operating environment. Aerospace industry experience a strong plus. U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident required.

    Skills:

    • Detailed knowledge of US laws and regulations governing exports and imports and experience with product classification under US Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) and Harmonized Tariff System
    • Detailed knowledge of US Treasury (OFAC) embargoes and sanctions regulations
    • Familiarity with EU and UK laws a plus
    • Can apply extensive compliance experience to spot and tailor major issues but understands the issues sufficiently to propose a compromise.
    • Ability to fully understand the business objectives and ensure those objectives are met in while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations.
    • Can separate the key issues from the insignificant ones in approaching problems.
    • Creative problem solver.
    • Can perform in depth research to analyze and interpret regulations.
    • Independent and self-motivated with high work standards, including special attention to detail, accuracy and an emphasis on meeting deadlines.
    • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills to present complex ideas in a thoughtful and compelling manner.
    • Must exhibit a high level of discretion, professionalism, maturity and integrity.
    • Must be able to prioritize multiple assignments with time sensitive deadlines.

    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates preferred
    • Excellent computer skills using MS Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office products.
