Job Description Overview: The EH&S Document Control Specialist I has the primary responsibility to manage EH&S documents and ensures their accuracy, quality and integrity. This position is responsible for maintaining matrices and documentation compliant with government agency regulations and company policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: DOCUMENTATION AND DATA ENTRY: 50% of position responsibility * Ensure chemical consumption, air emissions and chemical inventory data is accurately logged and tracked for state compliance for the Longmont site. * Document and maintain EH&S training matrices for required training and coordinate Manager follow-up to ensure completion. * Attend Safety Team meetings and Green Action Team meetings and prepare draft safety team meeting minutes. * Ensure SDS hard copy and soft copy libraries are maintained, up-to-date and accurate. * Ensure EH&S Compliance documentation including air audits, RTO inspection and maintenance forms, dust collector forms, equipment inspections and training forms are collected scanned and filed in a timely fashion. COORDINATION AND FOLLOW-UP: 30% of position responsibility * Coordinate monthly first aid kit stocking. * Coordinate safety shoe and prescription safety glass program and maintain tracking system. * Coordinate Safety Observation Card Box forms. * Review and update EH&S postings such as First Responder Lists, Newsletters, etc. as needed. GENERAL ADMINISTRATION: 20% of position responsibility * Assist EH&S with new hire orientation packets and work with managers on new hire tracking and communication. * Assist with scanning workers compensation documentation and records maintenance. * Prepare forklift, electric pallet jack and aerial lift licenses for trained company personnel. * Assist with GHS label creations and maintain templates. * Assist with document management for remote CG Sites as needed. * Manage ordering of general office supplies. EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING: * High School diploma or G.E.D equivalent * Previous experience with data entry and document control * Minimum three years experience in Manufacturing environment preferred * Previous experience recording and reporting regulatory data preferred * Knowledge and experience using SAP preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY: * Proven ability to develop positive relationships * Proven ability to act independently, exercise judgment and influence people to take appropriate actions * Excellent attention to detail and follow through * Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize * Effective written and verbal communication skills * Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint. * Excellent grammar and proofing skills * Ability to multi-task while also reassessing priorities on a continual basis INTELLECTUAL DEMANDS: * Must understand vague and implicit instructions, and act in the best interest of the company * Must be approachable and responsive to a variety of people and issues * Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure * Must be highly analytical with an ability to perceive the real problems and drive appropriate actions * Must be able to maintain confidentially with regard to workers compensation documentation. * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, engineers, contractors and employees * Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages, and concepts of basic algebra * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
