Our combined 407,000 square feet of manufacturing facilities across the United States house over 88 grand and large format digital printers, custom automated finishing equipment, and coating capabilities to produce printed recyclable materials up to 16 ft wide. Our prepress department processes more than 20,000 files per day with the aid of proprietary software automation tools. We operate around-the-clock, 7 days a week to deliver extraordinary customer service, and print over 431 million square feet of material annually. Job Description Overview: The position of the Manufacturing Intern has the primary responsibility of documenting current standard operating procedures into a company standard layout. The Intern would also have the responsibility of observing and reviewing new processes and documenting in the standard company layout. The Intern may also be asked to assist the Manufacturing Engineer in collecting time study data and designing layout maps for the manufacturing area. The internship will run from the end of May to mid-August. Hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-5 pm. Candidates must be a resident of Colorado. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION, REPORTING and DATA ANALYSIS: 80% of position responsibility * Ensure all current process are documented following the standard company layout * Writing and/or reviewing SOPs, LOTO, Work Instructions at the direction of the Director Operations, Hi-Res (Longmont) * Recording data in spreadsheets * Training assistant, help other employees get trainings and paperwork completed DATA COLLECTION and ENGINEERING ASSISTANCE: 20% of the position responsibility * Perform time studies to capture process capability and model process throughput * Identify opportunities for process improvements * Assist with creation and revision of layout maps of manufacturing area EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING: * Must be in the process of completing a Bachelors Degree. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY: * Ability to communicate: verbally and written in English * Ability to be an effective communicator with employees and management * Ability to act independently, exercise judgment and influence people to take appropriate actions * Excellent attention to detail and follow through with communication and a sense of urgency for deadlines * Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize * Ability to write a technical document INTELLECTUAL DEMANDS: * Must understand vague and implicit instructions, and react favorably in all work situations. * Must be approachable and responsive to a variety of people and issues. * Must be adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people. * Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. * Ability to use tape measures, stopwatches, calipers * Ability to perform and understand basic statistics and other analytical mathematics
