CITGO is an Equal Opportunity Employer Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent *Minimum of three (3) years of refinery or related experience OR Associate or Bachelor degree in relevant field PREFERRED : *Operator training, console, and field experience *Regulatory Training experience Candidates must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credentials Card) ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration. Candidates selected for employment must meet eligibility criteria to obtain a TWIC card. Job Duties Responsible for operating process units from computerized controls while understanding and ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations regarding unit operations. Completes the required reporting documents. Understands, follows, and directs Field Operations personnel in complying with all safe work policies and procedures at all times. Optimizes unit operating costs (energy, catalyst, chemicals and maintenance expense) while maximizing process unit through production of high valued products. Works with the process control group to identify and develop control schemes to help achieve this optimization. Works with the Process Engineering group to optimize unit operation, and to identify and eliminate unit limits and/or constraints. Optimizes the reliability and profitability of operations within the limits of the equipment and regulatory permits. This includes analyzing and troubleshooting operational issues/problems and taking corrective action. Coordinates with other Console Operators on shift to operate units and control feedstock and product movements to meet refinery production plans and product quality specifications. Coordinates with outside Operations personnel to operate units and control feedstock and product movements to meet refinery production plans and product quality specifications. Performs training as required by management.
