    We have an immediate opening for a Staff Engineer at our Pine Brook, NJ facility headquarters.

     

    OVERVIEW

    This position is reporting directly to the executive engineering director of Kearfott guidance and navigation systems. The selected individual will lead across functional team including collaborating and working with program management, business development, manufacturing, supply chain, sourcing, systems, software, hardware, mechanical, certification authorities and customers.

    Required Skills

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work very closely and collaboratively with global and domestic customers, operations and production, vendors and partners, engineering, sourcing and peers. 
    • Direct and support bid and proposals, and respond to customer’s challenges and requests in a timely manner.
    • Lead and direct cross-functionally disbursed engineering teams during proposal, requirements capture and requirements definition, design, validation, testing and integration, verification, certification, product transition, manufacturing, and delivery.
    • Plan programs and projects, Develop and execute to project budgets and schedules, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS), critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion, and workload forecasts
    • Conduct technical presentation to internal and customer leadership on progress of current projects.
    • Mentor, train and develop younger, multi-disciplined engineers.
    • Experience serving as a technical advisor to a senior leadership team.
    • Demonstrated an effective relationship building skills at all levels in an organization.

     

    The selected individual will operate in a fast-paced global environment with high expectations, multi project assignments in a collaborative environment and within diverse-disburse team settings. The ideal staff engineer is expected to be self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented and possess effective verbal and written communication skills

    Required Experience

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:

    • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Master of Engineering or MBA is a plus
    • 20 plus years of progressive product development, system architecture, civil and military certification experience within the aerospace and the avionics industry
    • Engineering leadership, team management, project management within the aerospace and avionics industries is a plus
    • Experience in MIL- STD – 810, DO – 160, DO – 254, DO – 178B and ARP 4754 is a plus
    • Prior Knowledge of Inertial Reference Systems, Inertial Measurement Units or avionics development is strongly desired
    • 10 to 15 percent travel is required once COVID is controlled
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the US, visa sponsorship not available
