    THE FUNCTION:

    The Strategic Procurement function is responsible for managing Rolls-Royce’s external supply chain. Key accountabilities include (but not limited to):

    • Contract negotiations, including completing costs analyses and negotiations on terms and conditions

    • Resolution of commercial disputes

    • Managing work queue, including the sourcing of parts/services, raising and management of purchase documents

    • Supplier operations and relationship management

    • Cost reduction / cost management to support the companies cost targets

    • Development and execution of commodity strategies

    WHAT YOU’LL DO:

    Our 12-Week internship program is designed to give you an immersive, hands-on experience where you’ll gain practical experience on real-life assignments that will bring your theoretical knowledge to life. Not only will you receive on-the-job training, but you’ll also develop a host of transferable skills that will help guide you in your career for years to come. The dynamic nature of our business means that no two days will be the same, and you’ll receive support and mentorship from a variety of people within the organization, all of whom will be committed to helping you deliver your best.

    This internship will teach you about Rolls-Royce as a business, how you can enhance your skillsets and breadth within the umbrella of operations and supply chain, and how to strengthen your collaboration with diverse and dynamic teams across functions and sectors, honing your passion and potential future path within Rolls-Royce.

    You can expect to gain a real understanding of how our supply chain works and the role procurement plays in driving business results whether through developing strategies with a goal of improving quality, efficiency, or value, problem solving, or process improvement. Through an internship, you will develop procurement fundamentals, develop supplier management skills, build upon analytics skills, enhance interpersonal and collaboration skills working with cross-function teams, and understanding of supply chain within the manufacturing industry.

    PLEASE NOTE, THIS INTERNSHIP IS COMPLETELY REMOTE.

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

    Ideal candidates will have strong demonstrations of initiative, critical thinking and analytical skills, curiosity, and self-management.

    Candidates will need to be able to/have:

    • Demonstrate detail-oriented skills

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills

    • Interest in the supply chain field

    • Willingness to work in a customer interfacing environment

    • Ability to collate and interpret data

    • Ability to work independently without constant direct supervision

    • Demonstration of presentation skills both orally as well as visual management

    RELEVANT MAJORS BUT NOT LIMITED TO: Supply Chain Management, Operations, Industrial Engineering, International Business, Economics/Math, Business Management/Studies/Marketing, Finance, Organizational Development, and Information Science and Analytics

    BACHELORS REQUIRED

    STANDING/GRADUATION ELIGIBILITY: Attending an accredited college/university working towards a bachelor’s degree.

    MINIMUM GPA: 3.0

    WORK AUTHORIZATION ELIGIBILITY: to be considered, you must also be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Asylee, Refugee or have permanent/indefinite work authorization. There is no visa sponsorship for this position.
