We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer to help lead our deployment and support efforts for a major client in the Phoenix, AZ area.

    The Systems Engineer defines the architecture and design of the customers’ solution and is responsible for the definition of software and hardware products and interfaces. The Systems Engineer coordinates system development and integration tasks to include design, integration and formal testing. The Systems Engineer also works to support the Systems Engineering team.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supports the definition of software and hardware products and interfaces
    • Coordinates system development tasks to include design, integration and formal testing
    • Oversees all transitions into customer deployment
    • Develops and completes projects in system specifications, technical and logistical requirements and other disciplines
    • Creates and maintains programmatic and technical documentation to insure efficient planning and execution
    • Manages and documents system configurations
    • Ensures the deployment of the solution is successful
    • Maintains a thorough working knowledge of enterprise applications such as BusTime, CleverCAD
    • Implements Performance analysis and reliability analysis of the end to end protocol
    • Adheres to protocol revisions and amendments as directed by the Regional Engineering Manager
    • Assists in other tasks as needed by the Systems Engineering department
    • The Systems Engineer will provide training and guidance to Associates, Project Engineer I/II as needed.

    SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • 7+ years of experience in engineering development
    • 7+ years of experience in systems engineering involving hardware, software, data and communications technologies
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required.
    • Experience with hands-on deployment and integration of complex systems at a customer site.
    • Good understanding of the J1939 and J1708 protocols and experience with Multiplex systems
    • Some hardware design experience or ability to read electrical schematics
    • Experience with hardware troubleshooting and lab equipment desired
    • Experience with network and protocol troubleshooting and tools desired
    • Experience working with public transit is a plus, but not required.
    • Ability to independently gather and document requirements and provide design requirements and product definition
    • Superior PC skills, particularly with MS Office including Word, Visio, PowerPoint and Project, with the ability to learn new programs such as MS Dynamics AX
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize
    • Demonstrated track record of solving complex problems and troubleshooting issues.
    • Ability to communicate, both written & verbal, across all levels of customer and Clever Devices.
    • Some working knowledge of one or more of the following is a plus: C and C++, SQL, VB, JavaScript, HTML, ASP, python, databases, report generation and networking
    • Ability to travel up to 35%.
