    PRINCIPAL SOFTWARE ENGINEER

     

    Candidate will be a key member of the engineering team developing embedded software for real time control of inertial measurement hardware and the solution of complex navigation algorithms including Kalman filters. Works with cross functional technical engineering team to ensure that software requirements are fully understood and implemented.

     

    Conducts analysis, design, integration, and test of software subsystems following defined software development processes. Performs software development and integration using cross-compilation tool sets and simulation tools, as well as hardware instrumentation such as digital logic analyzers. This is a senior level technical position, responsible for developing concepts and solutions to complex issues, performing trade studies, and overseeing development activities through integration into production.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • C Programming.
    • Integration and troubleshooting of hardware/firmware/software components.
    • Good grasp of real time programming concepts and practices.
    • Must have Experience with DO-178B/C processes.
    • ADA programming language a strong plus.
    • C++ programming language a plus.
    • Familiarity with microprocessor assembler language a plus.
    • LabVIEW programming.

    Required Skills

    • In depth working knowledge of inertial navigation and. GPS applications for avionics platforms.

    • Experience with DO-178B RTOS and logical partitioning.
    • Ability to effectively communicate, plan, organize, and control work in his/her assigned projects.

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • B.S. in Computer or Electrical Engineering.
    • 10+ years in Software Development.
    • 3+ years in Software Development specifically for embedded systems.
    • In depth technical experience with Inertial Navigation System (INS), Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and Global Positioning System (GPS) applications a plus.
    • Experience required in working within a cross disciplinary engineering team of 2 to 10 software engineers relative to the coordination of product software design, test, and evaluation from the concept through production phases.
    • Strong Knowledge (Proficiency preferred) in DOORS, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the US, visa sponsorship not available.
    • Must be able to work on U.S Government programs and / or obtain security clearance in the future.
