    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Carrier is looking for a highly motivated and results driven Control System Engineering Intern to work with the Commercial Controls Engineering team to support projects focusing on control system design, development, and verification for Commercial HVAC control systems. The assignment will be during the summer of 2022 for 3-4 months.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and verify control algorithms based on the MATLAB/Simulink platform for Commercial HVAC systems.

    • Perform control system verifications and validations (V&V) with model-based tools and infrastructures.

    • Perform control analysis and tunings to address lab testing issues.

    • Document control system design, specification, and V&V results.

    • Prepare end of summer internship report out and presentation.

    EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS

    • Candidate must be currently pursuing a Master's degree in Engineering (Systems, Mechanical, Controls, Computer or Computer Science) and should have completed at least 2 years of coursework

    • GPA must be greater than or equal to 3.0 GPA (3.2 preferred)

    • Relevant coursework or previous internships preferred

    EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATION

    • Knowledge of feedback control theory and application.

    • Proficiency in use of MATLAB/Simulink for control design, verification and validation.

    • Knowledge of dynamic system simulation of controls and equipment using physics-based or data-driven models.

    • Demonstrated use of model-based verification techniques.

    • Knowledge of agile software development methods and processes.

    • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.

    • US Citizen or Permanent Resident

    • COVID-19 vaccines will be required for all newly hired Carrier U.S. Salaried employees

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

    • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
