    LOCATION: INDIANAPOLIS

    WHO WE ARE:

    The Control Systems is an engineering department within the Rolls-Royce Aerospace business. We develop and manufacture components used to control engines on a large portfolio of Defense and Civil aircraft as well as a number of our other industries partners.

    Control Systems is divided into the following sub-departments: Software, Systems, Simulation, Electronics, Mechanical, Supplier Engineered Equipment, and Supporting existing fleet. Each sub-department works closely together in the design, testing, incident investigation, and supply chain management to ensure our customer’s needs are met.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    Engineers in Control Systems work on a wide variety of projects to support our military and civil customers. Engineers are responsible in areas including system integration, software design, system design, mechanical design, and electronic design.

    As a Control Systems and Software Engineer, you will be designing and developing an aircraft engine controls and monitoring system, while working on a cross functional agile team under the direction of a senior engineer.

    Opportunities in this role include developing requirements, designing control system components, creating digital models, verifying models on real-time simulators, and integrating and testing controls systems on real engines. Additionally, you will be able to define a system test approach, test plan, conduct hardware/software qualification tests, and report results for assigned components.

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

    Ideal candidates will have strong demonstrations of interpersonal skills, curiosity, problem solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

    Candidates will be able to or have:

    • Knowledge of electronic circuit design (Analog/Digital)

    • Knowledge of software framework

    • Knowledge of simulation and modelling tools

    • Ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively

    • Demonstrate written and oral communication to a variety of audiences (e.g., team members, technical experts, and management)

    • Demonstration of presentation skills both orally as well as visual management

    • Ability to travel to worksites to perform responsibilities

    BACHELOR’S DEGREE OR HIGHER

    RELEVANT MAJORS:

    Engineering degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an engineering technology degree (e.g., Electrical Engineering Technology)

    Or a relevant degree within Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics.

    STANDING/GRADUATION ELIGIBILITY: You will receive your degree between December 2022 and August 2023.

    WORK AUTHORIZATION ELIGIBILITY: Ability to work in the U.S. with indefinite work authorization; No sponsorships are available for this role.
