This entry level AutoCad Technician position has safety, customer satisfaction, and business responsibilities within branch operations. This position requires on-boarding to learn and support proper culture expectations, following instruction of team leaders, standard safety procedures, and dependability. AutoCad Technician: Our department uses AutoCad 2012 to provide equipment layout drawings and mechanical fabrication drawings of emergency standby generator set enclosures and fuel tanks. These enclosures and fuel tanks are built at our facility on site. The AutoCad Technicians will have three main goals; to help provide quality layout drawings for Customer use as needed, help to create and edit an existing drawing library of layout and shop fabrication drawings and create 3D drawings of enclosures and fuel tanks to be used for structural analysis. AutoCad Specialist certification or experience by degree is required. Proficiency in AutoCad 2012 3D modeling workspace and creating layouts using viewports is required. Proficiency with other computer skills desired and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel is required. Applicant will work directly with a Design Specialist and Packaging Center Manager to complete project specific and manufacturing construction drawings within the predetermined schedule. 1 to 2 years of AutoCad experience or education required Some knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems is a plus - specifically mechanical in regard to airflow and/or sound mitigation Some knowledge of reading and drawing electrical schematics is a plus RESPONSIBILITIES: BUSINESS The packaging center fabricates large metal enclosures for standby power Cummins generators. Must be able to work as a team and focus on delivery goals- must complete projects in the expected time, with quality results. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Complete JSA for each job; Follow all safety requirements and Cummins policy. Work proactively to prevent injuries; must report any injury immediately, even 1st Aid. Keep track of upcoming assignments to include projects as well as any training; on the job training as well as computer web-based training. Participate in shop meeting, Adhere to Process Sheets, Hour sheets (SRT) and Safety Procedures; Uphold the policies and mission statement of Cummins. Interact in a professional manner with customers, vendors and co-workers at all levels of business in accordance with Treatment of Others policy. Ability to make decisions in a professional business manner, demonstrating emotional maturity in all situations. Demonstrate a positive attitude and a high level of personal credibility and integrity with sales, customers, management, and co-workers. Expect to meet deadlines and perform to company standards and safety protocols. REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED is required. 2-5 years of work experience or vocational tech training is preferred 1 to 2 years of AutoCad experience or education required Due to the manufacturing nature of this opening, all applicants must be 18 years of age Must be willing to work overtime and Saturdays as required. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Must be able to follow Company safety procedures and standard operating procedures. Must be honest, reliable, and dependable, and have a positive attitude. Must be able to work well under pressure or within deadlines. Must be able to work well independently or with others in a team environment interdependently through collaboration. Must have a record of good attendance and performance at prior jobs. o Candidate must meet all eligibility requirements to drive a Company vehicle, including but not limited to: o Must have a current, valid driver's license issued by the state in which they reside. o Must have current motor vehicle liability insurance. o No convictions for any driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs charges (DUI) within prior 5 years. o No greater than three (3) moving violations within prior 12 month period. o No greater than 2 avoidable accidents on MVR within prior 3 years. Candidate must be able to pass pre-employment drug testing and meet all physical requirements for the position. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently; pushing and pulling a maximum force of 50 pounds. Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time Must have the physical ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Protective Glasses, Protective Gloves, and Protective Footwear as required. Compensation and Benefits Base hourly rate commensurate with experience.
