The company is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer Intern for the facility in Reynoldsburg, OH. Responsibilities The intern will participate in creating and maintaining the systems that support engineering and enforce engineering standards. You will design, test, and prototype mechanical components and/or electrical subsystems. In addition to the engineering experience, an internship at Daifuku America Corporation will also expose you to the wide range of unique career advancement opportunities at Daifuku ranging from engineering management, technical services, manufacturing operations, product planning, and many other business functions. Other Responsibilities: * Detailing of mechanical components and structural items. This will include dimensioning, Bill of material updates, and modification to existing/standard drawings * Mechanical design mechanical conveyor components by using AutoCAD or Inventor * Designing of structural steel support system of Material Handling System by using AutoCAD * Plant/Construction site field inspections * Interface with fabrication/manufacturing team * May require some travel to project sites/manufacturing facilities * Perform other tasks as assigned Qualifications * * Excellent organizational/communication skills * Demonstrated PC skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) * Computer programming experience/interest desired * Automotive experience/interest desired * Knowledge of AutoCAD/3-D CAD software, Inventor a plus * Must be self-managed and committed to working in a fast-paced environment * Hands-on experience is desired * Ability to relocate to the internship area * Knowledge of mechanical systems (motors/chains), structural materials (steel beams/channels/angles), steel machining/welding practices desired Education and Experience Currently enrolled in a BS/BA or MS program with a mechanical or electrical engineering degree focus. 0-2 years experience with mechanical design practices or structural design practices.
