Mechanical Engineer Purpose ofPosition · Providetechnical support to Customer Defect Tracking & Resolution (CDT&R), ValueAnalysis Value Engineering (VAVE) and product enhancements as part of theGlobal Engineering team. · TheMechanical Engineer CPE is responsible for problem solving activities,communicating to internal and external stakeholders, and continuously improvingprocesses to enhance the quality and cost position of Gilbarco products. ** Key Responsibilities** · Completesdesign projects assigned by the Engineering Manager. · Creates3D models, detail drawings, part numbers, BOMs, strength analyses, test plans,etc. · Providetechnical support for special application projects. · Performsustaining engineering activities, supporting the production of Gilbarco Globaloperations, including Greensboro (USA) and Coimbatore (India) facilities. · Followproject time lines and specifications to guarantee project is delivered as persafety/quality requirements and within budget in a timely manner. · Ensurethat company products meet or exceed market and International standards ofperformance, safety and quality. · SupportGilbarcos strategy, key company initiatives and associated KPIs. · Participatein continuous improvement initiatives - based on FBS methodology and tools - acrossengineering activities to reach Operational Excellence. ** Relationships** · Cross-functionalteams include mechanical, hydraulics, electronic, and software designers, labtechnicians, outside development partners, program management, production,field support, reliability and system quality assurance lab personnel, customersand end users.
