    Finance Internship Our 10-12 week spring/summer intern program

    provides students the opportunity to participate in on-the-job training, access to mentors, and educational opportunities. Students will also be given the opportunity to work on a project as part of their intern experience. Depending on the current business need, this project may be cross functional. All students are expected to use project management skills to execute multiple project tasks simultaneously. Students will document project work in a formal report and/or presentation to Senior Management at the conclusion of the internship. As a Finance/Accounting undergraduate summer intern with Fortive, the student will be assigned to a specific area within our Finance department for purposes of learning, assessment and ultimate contribution. Finance areas include: Controllership Functions Includes accounting, financial reporting, cross- charges, tax, legal entity management Financial Planning & Analysis Provides financial analysis to drive business decisions Financial Reporting Provide support for reporting of monthly and quarterly operating results, including at times our SEC reports Treasury Supporting daily and monthly treasury functions. M&A Depending on business need, assistance in integrating and accounting for recent acquisitions. Projects may include: Performing basic functional business case analysis and identifying potential solutions Identifying business changes and executing related accounting process changes as necessary Compiling, analyzing and recording financial information Consolidating data from multiple sources/computer systems Analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and creating solutions Preparing variance analyses on monthly reports Performing monthly closing procedures Assessing financial controls To qualify for the undergraduate summer intern program, the student must be in good academic standing at his/her university and preferably enrolled as a rising senior in a relevant undergraduate degree program at the time of the internship. Specifically, we are looking for college students working towards a degree in Accounting or Finance, with at least 15 hours of major coursework completed. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred. We are looking for students who possess strong strategic, analytical and creative thinking skills, as well as demonstrate leadership and initiative. The candidates must be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products and possess strong oral and written communication skills. Candidates must pass a drug-screen and background check prior to employment.
