Dart Container is on the lookout for an Engineering Intern to join or Product Development team. We are seeking a student who has a knack for details and organization paired with a mixture of curiosity and analytics. In this position, you will have the opportunity to experience multiple facets of packaging development (from packaging to testing) while working with various groups across our Mason campus to gain a better understanding of how the operation of the business works. Day-to-Day Role: - Perform feasibility studies for fabrication, assembly, machining, or processing - Assist technicians with assembly and disassembly of process equipment and components in order to diagnose issues - Participate in troubleshooting, analysis, evaluation, implementation, and documentation of engineering solutions - Document and track technical changes and/or improvements and standard operating procedures (SOPs) - Collaborate with production personnel and other departments to gather information and draft reports, and improve equipment, processes, and products - Create test parameters and participate in the testing, data analysis, and implementation of processes, equipment, and engineering solutions Core Skills and Qualifications: The ideal candidate must possess all of the following: - Sophomore, Junior or Senior student status working towards a Bachelors degree with an emphasis in packaging science, packaging engineering, or a related field of study - Ability to apply engineering science and technology principles, techniques, procedures and equipment - Experience with 2D CAD - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models Preferred Skills and Qualifications: - Junior or Senior student status - Artios CAD experience If you experience difficulty applying online, you may call (800) 545-3278 Ext 3390 or email us at applicationassistance@dart.biz for assistance.
