    SCOPE: 

    The VP, Global Quality will serve as GPI’s lead quality executive representing our paperboard mills and global converting manufacturing network internally across the company and externally with our customers, suppliers and industry stakeholders.  This is a newly established role due to the growth of GPI’s business and aspiration to generate $10 billion in annual sales by 2025.  The VP, Global Quality will have direct responsibility for a team of approximately 25 employees, consisting primarily of center-led quality assurance and technical service resources.   Through collaborative leadership, the selected leader will bring together quality resources across 80+ paper mills and global converting manufacturing sites into a highly effective global function with a goal of leveraging scale, effectiveness and maximizing organization capability.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Serve as lead quality executive representing our paperboard mills and global converting manufacturing network internally and externally with focus customers, suppliers and industry stakeholders.  
    • Participate as a member of our global Supply Chain Leadership Team reporting directly to the SVP Supply Chain with matrix responsibilities to key divisional business teams.
    • Lead team of technical service representatives and central quality assurance resources with functional responsibility for quality teams across our global manufacturing sites.
    • Lead GPI’s Quality Steering Committee process facilitating issue resolution and quality excellent across our divisional manufacturing and commercial leadership teams.
    • Assess GPI’s quality processes, tools, talent and operating model compared with best practices to develop a strategic road map and business case supporting our growth over the LRP.
    • Develop, communicate and implement a clear enterprise-wide strategic quality vision to maximize employee engagement, performance results and overall culture of quality.
    • Lead quality assessment, trialing and transition program for GPI’s product / customer solutions as our manufacturing capabilities become more agile, broaden and grow.
    • Oversee the design, implementation and monitoring of enterprise-wide customer satisfaction measurement and initiatives to improve competitive advantage.
    • Lead global teams to promote and oversee quality, accreditation programs and initiatives that are scalable to monitor the quality of care, delivery and access.
    • Lead high-level customer and supplier interactions to resolve issues, serve as independent liaison to mediate intercompany quality matters.
    • Lead effort to standardize processes and procedures to meet food safety compliance standards
    • Establish and implement a strategy to execute continuous improvement and structured problem-solving projects to improve product quality.  Include methods of maintaining and ensuring sufficient skill levels exist where needed. (6S, Lean, KT, etc.)
    • Explore, identify, and pursue new technologies that improve effectiveness of our quality assurance and quality control systems including digital, real-time quality assurance systems. 
    • Attract, recruit and engage a highly motivated team with the quality function becoming a source of talent and development for future leaders across GPI.

     

     

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • 10+ years in quality technical field and leadership roles, preferably in manufacturing  
    • 5+ years of managing in an influential role as well as leadership in a people management environment
    • Bachelors degree in related field, MBA a plus
    • Experience leading quality function in global consumer products or process industries
    • Six Sigma Black Belt certification, Master Black Belt preferred
    • Working knowledge and experience in Production Systems, Lean Manufacturing Deployment/Transformation
    • Working knowledge of SAP preferred or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
    • 3rd party Quality certification (ISO 9001/TS 16949) experience, preferred
