    HELPER (LABORER) – CUTTING, FINISHING, SHEETING, Z-FLUTE

     

    SHIFT IS 12-HOUR NIGHTS - 6:45 PM TO 7 AM - ROTATING 4 NIGHTS ON AND 4 NIGHTS OFF

     

    INCLUDES WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS AND FREQUENT OVERTIME

     

    Graphic Packaging International, Inc., headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is a leading provider of packaging solutions for a wide variety of products to food, beverage and other consumer products companies.  The Company is one of the largest producers of folding cartons and holds a leading market position in coated-unbleached Kraft board and coated-recycled board.  One of its facilities is currently seeking an experienced HELPER for the Fort Smith, AR plant that is part of the Consumer Products Division

    POSITION PURPOSE

    Participates in overall product outcome associated with the Cutters, Gluers, Sheeters, Z-Flute Asitrade machine.

    Interprets and documents standards related to product performance and quality.

    Assists in the maintenance and set up of equipment for customer product.

    Works in a safe and efficient manner.

     

    JOB FUNCTIONS

    Must be able to operate and be familiar with the machine requirements.

    Must be become familiar with technical aspects of the machine and be able to troubleshoot if needed.

    Must be or become familiar with SAP and PEAK.

    Must be able to work towards achieving Dept. goals.

    Mechanical skills are a plus.

    Performs other organizational duties as required.

    Must take direction from Shift Supervisor and Operator.

    Must complete skill validation requirements for the job.

    Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

    Requires bending, pulling, walking.

    Keep work area clean and presentable at all times.

    Keep conveyor stocked at all times. Stage loads so as keep aisles clear and any copy or job changes separate.

    Change out loads using the Non-Stop feature of the press.

    Help with Purge/Line Clearance.

    Pull dropped loads.

    Safely and effectively be able to keep a press running during the Operator’s break periods.

    Hand Pack jobs as necessary for per individual job instructions.

     

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS

    A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.

    Skills - Mechanical, good communication, and attention to detail.

    Computer literate.

    Able to use SAP and PEAK systems.

    Abilities - Good attendance, work in teams or alone, guide teams and processes, and ability to work alone. 

    Heavy lifting required.
