    Quality Inspector Location US-LA-Baton Rouge State/Province LA City/Town Baton Rouge Category Operations - Field - Production Position Level Individual Contributor Position Overview/Summary Quality Inspector will perform quality control functions to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements. The role will support service center operation in identification, appraisal and disposition of Non Conformances. This position is located in Gonzales, LA as the shop has moved from Baton Rouge, LA. Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred) Required: High School Diploma or GED 3-5 years of job related experience with rotating equipment such as reciprocating compressors, centrifugal compressor, and steam turbines Experience or familiarity with quality assurance processes such as root cause analysis, non conformance reporting, corrective actions, etc. Ability and knowledge utilizing standard inspection and precision measurement instruments such as OD & ID micrometers, dial indicators, dial calipers, etc. Must have experience reading engineering and manufacturing drawings Basic computer and software skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc) Attention to detail Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to think indepedently while working in a team environment Preferred: NDT experience and certification Internal audit experience with ISO 9001 Ability to use a CMM such as a Romer or Faro arm Familiarity with Oracle or SAP Training in Six Sigma and lean principles Position Responsibilities and Duties Dimensionally inspect new and repaired parts as they are received Complete final quality assurance verification prior to final shipment on all jobs Perform daily audits of ongoing projects to ensure quality documentation is being completed and adhered to Perform Non Destructive Testing (MT & PT) Assist in shipping and receiving Conduct internal audits for ISO 9001 Perform mechanic duties when inspection and NDT work is not needed Manage calibration system Utilization of proper PPE at all times and strict adherance to all safety policies and initiatives Dresser-Rand is an equal opportunity employer.
