    About this role:

    Carrier is looking for software, electrical, mechanical, systems, and other engineering majors with demonstrated leadership ability and strong academic performance to join our competitive Carrier Engineering Leadership Program (ELP). The ELP offers new graduates an opportunity to deliver impactful contributions to strategic projects through three eight-month rotations across various Carrier business units.

    Candidates selected for the program will receive front-line, hands-on, meaningful assignments designed to stretch their capabilities and accelerate their professional development. In addition to the hands-on experience, the program includes high-caliber training, mentorship, and guidance from our diverse team of Carrier executives and program alumni to build a strong and lasting global network of colleagues.

    We are seeking a Dynamic Modeling - Systems Engineer. Associates will apply scientific principles to innovate, design, develop, and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools, and systems to ensure compliance to specifications, requirements, and customer guarantees across applicable operating conditions. Ensures novel ideas and implementations are captured and protected using applicable IP processes and tools.

    Please note: this role is part of Carrier’s Engineering Leadership Program (ELP). We are currently recruiting for the 2024 ELP Cohort to start at Carrier in June 2024.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Work with System Lead to define system requirements

    • Build sub-system, system and plant models for steady state and transient (dynamic) state

    • Use models to calibrate and validate system/subsystem test results

    • Develop or test models of alternate designs or processing methods to assess feasibility, sustainability, operating condition effects, potential new applications, or necessity of modification.

    • Ensure models are robust over the operating range of the product

    • Define, document and test system control logic to ensure products meet customer expectations.

    • Translate system requirements to component requirements and work with component suppliers to finalize design

    • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.

    • Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.

    • Provide feedback to other engineers from diverse functions on system needs.

    • Investigate component failures and/or faulty operation and recommend corrective actions.

    • Model and design integrated mechanical, electrical, or alternative systems

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, software, electrical, systems, or other relevant engineering fields

    • To be eligible for the program, you must be a 2023 or 2024 graduate of the degree in the relevant field

    • 3.0 or higher GPA

    • A minimum of one prior internship or co-op experience in a related field

    • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship

    • Willing to rotate and relocate to US offices over the course of the two-year program

    • Ability to start position on Leadership Program start date in June 2024

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Proactive and results-driven; thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Strong ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams

    • Demonstrated technical understanding and skills in general engineering, software, systems, electrical, Model-based development (MBD), chemical or mechanical

    • Preferred knowledge of refrigeration products

    • Preferred background in Systems Engineering

    • Preferred experience with thermal system testing and modeling and analysis

    • Strong troubleshooting abilities

    • Preferred experience with Matlab/Simulink/ other system modelling software

    • Strong Microsoft Skills: e.g. PowerPoint/Excel/Word/Project

    Pay Range:

    $60,750 - $103,250 Annually
