    The Systems Engineer is very dynamic and includes all aspects of Systems Design (“V-model”), customer relations, and proposal creation. The scope of our avionics systems engineering position may include: flight avionics design, data acquisition and conversion, navigation, communication bus protocols, flight software verification, fault tolerance and reporting, ground tooling, aircraft integration, and more.  Open communication between hardware, software, reliability, and program management disciplines is integral to the success of this position.

     

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

     

    • Lead small teams of engineers (5-10 members) performing the previously defined Design, Verification, and Integration activities; able to work across the enterprise to solve complex problems.
    • Leading detailed discussions concerning system requirements, architecture, and test strategy decisions.
    • Establishing tailored system design concepts, practices, and procedures at the team or department level using expertise in these areas.
    • Providing oversight and guidance to less senior members of the staff to help mitigate issues. Demonstrating strong technical competence in skills associated with a specific functional discipline.
    • In depth knowledge of industry related guidelines and directs activities based on that knowledge.
    • Advanced problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Implementing methods to plan, track progress and remain on schedule.
    • Discussing program technical status and issues with the Customer.

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

     

    • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or Physical Sciences
    • 2+ years of proven experience with avionics systems engineering (requirements development, analysis, test design, system architecture etc.)
    • Must be a US Citizen or a US Permanent Residence Card Holder

     

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

     

    • Safety assessment process as it relates to ARP4671 including generation of System architecture, functional block diagrams, PSSA, SSA, etc.
    • Reliability processes and documentation such as FMEA, FMECA, Reliability assessments, etc.
    • Regulatory design guidelines including ARP4754A, DO-178, DO-254, DO-160- Demonstrates strong technical competence in skills associated with a specific functional discipline.
    • Avionics communication protocols including MIL-STD_1553, ARINC 429, ARINC 664, and analog I/O Automated verification methods and scripting such as python, lab view, etc.
    • Requirements Management and change tracking tools such as DOORS, Clearquest, Serena Business Manager, etc.
    • Familiarity with military and FAA regulations and certification requirements for complex avionics equipment, as well as working knowledge of ARP 4754A.
    • Flight Management System (FMS) or similar avionics navigation design experience.
    • Hardware Design experience (FPGA, Circuit card Assembly or Power Supply design).
    • Experience with Human Factors design, validation and verification preferred as well.
