This position will be based in Singapore, where Mueller has an office, and will join our APAC Sales team, reporting to the Regional Sales Manager – ASIA. The successful candidate will work closely with and report to the Regional Sales Manager – ASIA and International Sales Director – Clean Water to promote, develop and close opportunities.
He/she is a self-starter and will need to be both a hunter and a farmer; building the business network and managing Channel Partners and high-level, large entity relationships. In addition, they will establish plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the area and contribute to the development of technical training and specification/standard educational programs for End Clients and Channel Partners.
The successful candidate will be trained in Mueller’s products, technologies and services related to the clean water portfolio of the group, and will report to the Regional Sales Manager – ASIA to promote, develop and close opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE POSITION INCLUDE:
Overall responsibility for Sales targets in a focused Territory with the Region.
Extensive travel throughout the assigned Territory, with travelling up to 50% of the time.
Market research to determine potential opportunities and routes to market.
Understanding clients’ needs, and providing solutions.
Establishing new and maintaining existing relationships with Customers and Channel Partners.
Preparation of quotations, proposals, RFP and Tender responses, presentations, etc.
Negotiating and closing Sales/Tenders, and after-sales support services/follow up and Forecasting.
Recording and maintaining client contact data.
Attending conferences & exhibitions, presenting/publishing technical papers and case studies, etc.
Other duties as may be assigned by the Company.
POSITION MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
An Engineering degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Sales role in the Water Industry. Alternative qualification and experience sets will be considered.
Those with experience in the Water supply sector and a solid track record of selling Valve and Technology products into this sector are preferred.
Experience in bidding/proposal preparation and the ability to read and understand specifications, both from a technical and commercial perspective.
Good understanding of Asian/ASEAN Customers, Markets and requirements. Knowledge of China an advantage but not essential.
Proven track record of exceeding established Sales quotas and/or technical experience in or knowledge of the Water supply industry.
Candidate should be fluent in English and have excellent working knowledge of MS Office [Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint].
Competence in a second language spoken in South East Asia is an advantage.
