    MISSION:

     As an Application Support Engineer at GPI you will provide technical support regarding a spectrum of software used within GPI.

    You will use both technical knowledge and “people” skills to ensure success in your role and for GPI. Given how interwoven technology and the business world have become, this resource must have good soft skills. You will also collaborate with other team members, as well as end users.

    In this role you will be the first line of defense in finding the root cause of an application malfunction, sometimes they find an issue too severe for them to address. Their duty in this scenario is to escalate the issue to engineering or the application owner. They will own the issue through resolution even though the issue has been escalated.

    HOW YOU WILL SUPPORT GPI – KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Must have a working knowledge of database management, different operating systems and different programming languages.
    • Coordinate with teams and resolve all complex application and system issues.
    • Design and maintain expertise in flow of application process and systems related to GPI.
    • Administer and resolve applications issues, provide updates and perform root cause analysis.
    • Develop, sustain and evaluate delegated business processes and related applications.
    • Supervise all alerts related to application and system procedures and provide services proactively.
    • Maintain good professional relationships with counterparts of engineering and customer support departments.
    • Perform root cause assessment and debug all issues on server domain, and availability of applications.
    • Provide support and identify all issues and prepare appropriate documentation all issues and solutions
    • Identify and provide resolutions ranging in complexity from medium to high

    Required Skills

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in computer related field or equivalent experience preferred, technical certifications a plus.
    • 5+ years of hands-on experience with networking, system integration and set-up
    • 5+ years hands-on experience developing queries and reviewing scripts
    • 5+ years hands-on experience with Unix/Linux and Windows platforms
    • 2+ years’ experience with AWS or Azure applications preferred
    • Expert knowledge of Excel, Word, Project, Visio and PowerPoint
    • Have experience in managing key applications and be comfortable in communicating complex requirements both within and outside of the organization
    • Must have a working knowledge of database management, different operating systems and different programming languages.

     

     

    KEY COMPETENCIES:

    • Working knowledge of Databases & basic network configuration, IT Hardware and Software
    • Ability to learn and master GPI-specific software
    • Complex problem solving
    • Written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to diagnose & address application issues
    • Must possess decision-making, analytical and time management skills
    • Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment under pressure
    • Ability to handle and keep up with constant changes to products, policies, procedures and people
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills are a must. Must be a team player.
